Tax Cuts
You Americans won't believe this--we didn't when we heard it on the news last night (click on the title for a news link)--but the GST (goods & services tax) is being reduced from 6% to 5% (mind you we still pay PST--provincial sales tax--on top of that; at times we pay upwards of 13% on some items). So mind you, our taxes are much higher, but how often do you remember sales taxes going down?

Did you know the GST was recently reduced from 7% (to 6%) in July 2007? Wowzers!!!!
I had just heard about the cut last year . . . 2% in a year and a half--not bad. Now, to work on reducing the income tax :)
Just in case you've forgotten....you are still a US citizen. =) Sorry couldn't resist! I love that you love Canada...but you are still one of us too!
I wasn't excluding myself from Americans--just addressing those readers from the US vs. those from Canada. Though it does feel different being an expatriate right now.
